RESTAURANT, HOTEL, AND INSTITUTIONAL MANAGEMENT

(RHIM) SCHOLARSHIPS

Welcome to Texas Tech University-Costa Rica!

Most Texas Tech RHIM students have job offers waiting for them at graduation. We consistently rank as one of the top hotel and restaurant management degree programs, as our students get hands-on experience and the opportunity to work in one of the world's most important eco-tourist countries. A career in this field means working in a robust industry likely to remain one of the fastest growing in the world.

Texas Tech University-Costa Rica is awarding scholarships to students who choose to major in RHIM, beginning in Fall 2022 (August).

RHIM majors who complete their admission applications by the university's deadline will automatically be considered for a Texas Tech-CR RHIM Scholarship. Scholarship winners who remain eligible academically can renew their scholarship for the duration of their degree program (or a maximum of four years). This scholarship is only for new (incoming) students.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Students who fail to make academic progress towards their degrees may have their scholarship suspended. Lack of progress entails failing below the college's acceptable GPA, deviating from the required class sequence, under-enrollment, retaking or dropping too many classes, or excessive class absences.

Students who are not enrolled and attending class by the first week of the semester risk the suspension of their scholarship.

Students with a lower cumulative GPA than the one required by their scholarship will be placed in Scholarship Probation during the next semester. If your cumulative GPA continues to be below your scholarship's requirement at the end of the probation semester, your scholarship is at risk.

Students who enter the university without a major must declare one after their second semester, be it the Fall or Spring. After this point, they will not be eligible for scholarship aid without declaring a major.

Scholarship applications are approved on a rolling basis.

There is still time to start your application!

Once you have submitted your documents, the Scholarship Committee will review them.

The committee may also ask you for a personal interview.
